As many of us know, we are required about seven hours of sleep each night to be productive. But, did you know that the color of your bedroom can play a role in your sleep patterns? Research has shown that the color that you choose for your bedroom’s walls can affect the quality of sleep you receive, as well as your overall mood. Bedrooms that feature blue, yellow, green, silver, or orange walls were found to improve sleep quality. Meanwhile purple, brown, and grey were found to be the worst colors for sleeping.
Research has shown that the color that you choose for your bedroom’s walls can affect the quality of sleep you receive, as well as your overall mood.According to a study conducted by Travelodge, those that sleep in a blue bedroom receive an average of seven-hours and 52-minutes of sleep each night. Researchers believe this is because blue is associated with calmness, and helps to reduce blood pressure and heart rate. The study found that those who sleep in a yellow-painted bedroom receive an average of seven-hours and 40-minutes of sleep, while those in green bedrooms receive an average of seven-hours and 36-minutes of sleep. Silver and orange-colored rooms came in last, with an average of seven-hours and 33-minutes and seven-hours and 28-minutes of sleep, respectively.
